Marketing pages should be high-performing, SEO-optimized, secure, flexible, but easy for editors to handle with content. For these reasons we implement our websites with Jamstack.
What is a jam stack?
JamStack is a modern architecture for building websites. JAM means JavaScript, APIs, Markup and is the basis of an application.
How does this work?
The application does not require a backend as is known from conventional Wordpress, Drupal etc. websites. To output content in the frontend. Data management and display are strictly separated. The frontend is connected via API to a service that supplies the application with content. The app is built dynamically and static pages are rendered. After updating the content, an automated build process is started and parts of the application are generated and stored statically. Netlify or Vercel are professional services that we use for this.
How do I update content?
With a headless CMS which is connected to the website via API. Headless CMS systems are SAAS applications that can be freely selected as required. There are currently countless options. We mostly use Contentful, Prismic, Storyblock or Strapi. One of the many advantages is that you can also feed content from your headless system to different channels (websites or apps).
